Our ideal candidate has experience grasping the game’s vision, conceptualizing ideas that fit the tone and experience, prototyping and communicating their findings, and shipping completed features on a multi-discipline, professional team. They are confident in working with other departments to get the assets and technology needed to implement designs, and have an understanding and respect for how it will impact others. They have a strong sense of moment-to-moment gameplay, and imagination for how mechanics can scale or change over the course of the game. They work in-engine to realize their ideas. They enjoy the prototyping phase of a project, but have the experience and discipline to move a prototype into a shippable feature. They have the ability to juggle multiple tasks, prioritize well and make suggestions on process,

  • Worked on and shipped minimally 2-4 games, from conceptualization to completion.
  • Can effectively prototype action/adventure mechanics in blueprints/C++.
  • Experienced with moment-to-moment gameplay design.
  • Can articulate needs for tools & support from programming.
  • Is able to prioritize effectively and communicate priorities to teammates.
  • Can utilize and/or create all manner of temporary assets, ex. Sound effects, animation, VFX.
  • Has a grasp of how to grow and complicate mechanics for the player over the course of the game.
  • Understands the impact of design choices on other departments and can determine constraints of their own systems.
